This couldn’t be truer for Sarah Hough, founder of Sashay Dance who isn’t just successfully running a UK-wide, award-winning business but is also a qualified dance teacher!

What fascinated us the most about Sarah is the extraordinary resilience that led to her setting up a ‘two left-feet friendly’ dancing experience.

Sarah used to be a highly successful (award-winning no less!) Personal Assistant and an organisational queen! She had danced all of her life for the sheer fun and love of the artform until she was persuaded by her fellow dancers to run classes. She went away and secured the qualifications needed to be an official dance teacher and taught her first dance class as a qualified Salsa teacher. It was on this night, after teaching her very first lesson that she was violently mugged and left with a concussion. After the attack, she struggled with severe PTSD and had to give up her job as a personal assistant to concentrate on her rehabilitation.

Speaking to Sarah, she is incredibly reflective about such a traumatic experience and takes the view of ‘everything happens for a reason’, because all of this led to her setting up Sashay Dance, now a nationwide business with 26 dance instructors across the country. A truly inspiring display of what is possible when you are focused and passionate about achieving something!

Additional extras:

‍The dance parties are 90 minutes and can take place in gardens, cottages or venues picked by Sarah. They are suitable for all levels and ages. You also get a bunch of accessories to use on the day, the bride gets a celebratory goody bag and you get to keep some of the accessories you use as a memento of your day!

Good to know:

‍You can also send them the bride's favourite song or up to three songs that will be mashed together and you can even learn a routine to the song and showcase it at the wedding!
