Collctiv is "Big in America"
We are thrilled to share that we have been selected as one of five small UK businesses featured in The Department for Business and Trade’s (DBT) highly anticipated LinkedIn docuseries, “Big in America.”
The docuseries follows Collctiv CEO Amy Whitell on her journey to New York City as she hustles to raise capital for her company’s seed round. With the help of the DBT and former Uber Eats Engineering Director Arun Nagarajan, Amy prepares her pitch to secure funding from a room of angel investors in New York City.
Collctiv is an app that helps group organisers collect money from friends and family in seconds. Organisers use Collctiv to create and send custom payment links, allowing contributors to send them money using their digital wallet or preferred credit card - without having to download the app, create an account, or share bank details.
In the fall of 2022, Collctiv expanded into the US and was the only British startup accepted into the highly prestigious and competitive Techstars Accelerator Program in New York City. The program is known for its rigorous selection process and its alumni, which include ClassPass, Owlet Baby Care, and PillPack.
“We’re thrilled to be featured in ‘Big in America,’” said Amy Whitell, CEO of Collctiv. “This is a great opportunity to share our story with a wider audience and to show how we’re helping people in the UK and the US to collect and spend money together more easily.
Viewers of “Big in America” will witness the importance of building a network of allies and mentors and the challenges of raising capital from American investors. They will also see how Collctiv is using technology to make it easier for people to collect and spend money together.
Will Amy seal the deal with the angel investors? Find out by tuning in to Collctiv’s episode on October 10 on LinkedIn.
